The Story Behind Aihylyu
In the ancient Bashkir epic Ural-Batyr, Samrau, the ruler of the celestial birds, has two daughters: Homay, the daughter of the Sun, and Aihylyu, the daughter of the Moon.
Two sisters. Two different destinies.

Homay becomes the wife of Ural-Batyr, a hero who chooses the path of light.

Aihylyu's fate takes a darker turn. Abducted by demons and serpents, she is forced through deception and threats to marry Shulgen, Ural-Batyr's brother, who has chosen the path of darkness.
Yet even in the presence of evil, Aihylyu never loses her inner light. From the union of light and darkness, a son is born. She raises him to become a true batyr, a hero who chooses goodness and follows the path of Ural-Batyr.

The song weaves together opposites: day and night, sun and moon, light and darkness. At its heart lies a choice each of us faces every day:
"Day and night, the sun and the moon,
The path of light or darkness?
Two paths lie within every heart. Choose."

Aihylyu tells the story of preserving one's inner light, even after passing through darkness.
The Arrangement
The song's dramatic structure is based on the opposites inherent in Aihylyu's story: day and night, the Sun and the Moon, light and darkness. This contrast is conveyed not only through the lyrics but also through the musical development of the composition.

The vocal line is built around the Bashkir pentatonic scale, characteristic of traditional Bashkir musical culture. One of the key vocal choices is the combination of a contemporary rap part with throat singing, giving the modern rhythmic form a traditional timbral character.

The arrangement features traditional Bashkir instruments – the kurai, kubyz, and dumbyra – interacting with contemporary electronic production. Their timbres, the vocal parts, and the electronic elements function as parts of a unified musical narrative, revealing Aihylyu's character and story through music.
